POLITICS

(NYC) - The "Vote for Change Tour 2004" has garnered much interest from fans as musicians speak out about politics and the upcoming presidential election. As a counter-measure the "Don't Pimp Your Vote" tour has been announced. Headlining 6 as-yet-to-be-announced bands, the tour is already scheduled for Florida, California and New York states beginning in October. "We want voters to realize that by following a musician's recommendation on who to vote for, it's worse than not voting at all. A real vote is cast by an informed person, not a rock or country band's fan," said an unnamed source today. "Music should increase awareness of the times, not influence partisan politics 'just because we can' as John Mellancamp has been quoted as saying" said the source.
