- An unidentified man, accused of poaching, lost a leg in a
bizarre attack last week, according to local news reports. The
man was found by rangers in the Bhadra Tiger Reserve in
Karnataka, badly wounded but coherent.
According to the Bhadra park rangers the man was setting an
illegal trap inside the reserve when he became entangled in it.
He was trapped for 2 days, with no food and water, when a tiger
came upon him and attacked. His left leg was badly chewed but
remained in the trap which stemmed the blood loss. Another 3
days passed before he was found by the Bhadra rangers.
Poaching charges will be made once the man has recovered further.
