(FCS)
- Three members of the Fairfield Crushers girls soccer team fell
into a sinkhole during a game in the Annual Spring Tournament
Saturday at 8:45 am. Rescue workers arrived within minutes and erected a
barricade around the accident scene. Efforts quickly turned to
constructing a supporting wall structure inside the sinkhole to
prevent the walls from collapsing. It has been reported that the
players fell into a void under the sinkhole and are communicating
with the rescue workers. Cold and wet, the soccer player's rescue
is hampered by the possibility of the sinkhole falling further and
crushing them. Names of the girls has been withheld pending
notification of all the parents. Developments will be reported as they become
available. >>Updates>>
