(HWD) - A 'Shrek 2' screening at the Cannes Film Festival
was an emotional affair for one of its cast. Antonio Banderas, who
plays ogre killer Puss in Boots in the film, was apparently so moved
when he was watching it at the festival that he ended up crying and
holding hands with Justin Timberlake.
He says the romantic scene at the end of the film got to him, and
then he looked at JT and he was sobbing too, so they held hands for
a while while Cameron looked on. Antonio says he was concerned at
first about doing an animated film because his wife Melanie Griffith
had a bad experience doing 'Stuart Little':
"The only reference point I had was my wife who did 'Stuart Little'
a couple of years ago. She was very troubled with it because they
had to repeat lines maybe 50 times until they got the lines perfect
so I thought 'Oh my god, what am I stepping in?'"
"But I found it was not like that at all - there was a tremendous
free spirit in the whole entire team. That really to me was a
surprise - I didn't expect that!"
