DRUG DETECTION

(GNA) - Olympic officials will not confirm or deny reports that a new retina scanning technology will be unveiled in Greece for the summer games. The scanner can quickly take a full retina scan and determine illegal steroid use in athletes. "The eye is a very responsive organ for detecting illegal steroid use. We will be using the scans on all medal finishers and a random sampling of all other athletes," reported an unnamed Olympic source. "This will be used alongside blood and urine testing and will increase our detection rate of 'dopers' and cheaters quite effectively. The Olympic's has never and will not allow cheaters to prosper" continued the official. The scanner, dubbed 'GoldenEye' is produced by Konica Medical Systems LLC, Konica officials have also declined comment.
