- Michael Moore celebrates with friends as he lays claim to the
top prize at the Cannes Film Festival for his film 'Fahrenheit
9/11', a scathing documentary on the current American
administrations handling of the 9-11 aftermath. The award, called
the "Palme d'Or" was presented to Mr. Moore after an uproarious
standing ovation once his win had been announced to the crowd.
While the film did not have undivided approval for winning the top
film prize, it did stand out from the 19 films eligible for the
top prize. The next stop in the festival circuit for "Fahrenheit
9/11 is rumored to be the Arab film festival 'Cronoval' this
summer, where it is also expected to win the top prize 'Layden-ndi'.
