- The school board of Sacramento has instituted a new curriculum
that will help students navigate the World Wide Web in an
ever-increasing self-service world. The course, called 'Online
Self-Sufficiency', will teach students ordering online, security
issues and how to incorporate the 'Information Highway' into their
everyday lives. "The web is a part of every student's life and we
want to be sure that the students are using it to their best
advantage", stated Mr. Ballon, a school board member. "Many
students will be working in the online world so knowing how the
merchant aspect of it works, should work and can be improved will
be a major part of their lives and careers". The coursework
is being created with help from Microsoft and Sun Technologies.
